About Prison Life:
Narrative-driven adventure games do not come much better than Life is Strange: True Colors. The game features a remarkable protagonist with an empathy power that enhances storytelling via clever interactions. Side characters are fantastic due to their personalities and frequent humor. There are plenty of fun moments, including a colorful LARP segment that is probably the high point due to its timing and implementation. Sadly the ending is a bit rushed and the conspiracy angle is a wash, but neither is a huge detraction from what is a joy to experience the first time through. Deck Nine Games have (twice) proven capable when it comes to episodic narrative adventure games and now they have a golden opportunity to take the genre to even greater heights. Read full review Incredible game. I thoroughly enjoyed the first LiS like all others.. and I feel like the minority whenever I say I DID NOT like LiS 2 at all. Yeah the choices and endings offered a lot, but the story was not engaging for me at all. Why give NPC a power and not let us utilize it ourselves.. but I digress. True Colors goes back to the LiS 1 feel where you have the power and you can utilize to see the emotions of many different characters. It is fascinating to use and interesting towards the story when deciding what you want to do based on the emotions of others. Keeping the game in a centralized town offers great development for the awesome cast of characters. The story can be lighthearted, emotional, and is honestly without many flaws at all. I enjoyed the entire ride from beginning to end. Alex is an awesome protagonist and I love how they explored her past as well as gave her so much emotion. I think I can say this is my favorite in the series.
