About Space Sailors:
The lovechild of FTL and Rimworld. A must buy for fans of roguelike, colony management, 4X, and city-builders. The dev team is hard-working, updates are huge, and tested before-hand on experimental branches. Possibilities are endless. Features: ship-to-ship combat, focus on shield or armor, boarding enemy ships, defending from boarders, explore derelict ships, interact with NPC stations (including boarding a slaver station to free the prisoners), ressource mining, ship/wreck salvage, free-form ship-design, create a multi-ship fleet, hydroponic farming, ressearch, complex industry, and much more. The game could be fun if there is enough content. But it’s been two years in the early access, and I don’t see that much of an improvement. You can almost see all the stuff within just 10 hours of gameplay. It is just repetitive after that. After two years in the early access, it is still very barren in terms of content. The core game loop is similar to rimworld, where you build a colony, gather resources, and survive. But rimworld keeps throwing you challenges, may it be an environmental hazard, mentally broken colonist, or enemy siege. There is always something fun and challenging to deal with. The game experience of Space haven, on the contrary, is very flat. After 5 hours of gameplay, you can almost build a self-sustainable spaceship. You only need to sometimes gather resources when you see them. The challenge is over even before you leave the first cluster, and recruit your first crew. Sure, sometimes there are pirates hunting you, but you can just easily run away.
