About Tokyo Saga:
Ridiculous game, but in a good way. It’s hard to sum up really. The game is sometimes very self-aware breaking the 4th wall so when the characters say that is this a low quality anime or a teenage high school drama I was laughing because sometimes the game really feels like that. But anyways…. Butterfly Effect x B-tier anime x JRPG. Or something like that. All in all I liked the game but there are some things I have to mention. The only other Nihon Falcom game I’ve played was the Trails in the Sky series and it’s eerie similar to that in some extent. Like the incredibly slow start and build up of the story. All the dungeons are pretty much the same. You will only see same variance in the very end game but up until to the last chapter everything is just the same, and it kinda gets boring. Talking about the end I’m not sure this “triple ending” was a good thing. There is a normal ending. There is a TRUE ending. And there is an after story TRUE TRUE ending. To me it was just too much especially that the normal ending was pretty okay I think. AND the 2nd ending (TRUE ending) was almost good. Like I can’t write it down here because of spoilers but couldn’t have been hard to wrap up the story nicely. Alas even with 3 endings there is no closure which lefts the door open for a sequel but I’m not sure that alone was enough justification for how the game ended.
